THE CHALLENGE

A Strategic Partnership for the Development and Governance of Global Digital Platforms

In 2016 Lavazza began the development of its current digital platforms, which have seen considerable growth and evolution in recent years in both technical and functional terms.

The platform implemented included a launch of four e-commerce sites in the target markets (Italy, Germany, the UK and the US) and the publication of an editorial version of the site in more than forty other markets. Strategic objective: to position Lavazza and its products distinctively in the digital arena as well, with an innovative, impressive and easy-to-use site.

The effective management of complex initiatives such as this requires not only advanced technical skills, but also sound governance and professional project management.
After an initial phase that saw the initiation of activities and the participation of the various stakeholders involved in the project, Lavazza enlisted the support of Aeonvis to better define the project vision and the management of the growing complexity of the program.

THE SOLUTION

How a hybrid-agile approach optimized project planning and delivery

The collaboration with Lavazza transformed the relational model between teams, introducing a project roadmap based on a technical and functional review of key critical streams. This enabled the development of effective planning focused on sustainable timelines and delivery capabilities, ensuring full involvement and alignment of all stakeholders. In addition, agile project management practices were adopted, complemented by targeted quality procedures for the various phases.

Through a hybrid-agile approach, Aeonvis has combined technological and functional expertise, designing a new way of working that has made it possible to maintain control over the evolution of the project, ensuring deadlines are met and proactive collaboration between teams, always in line with high quality standards.

THE RESULT

After an initial situational analysis involving internal stakeholders and external vendors, Aeonvis defined and governed in detail a sustainable roll-out plan, which saw the release of the remaining ecommerce and international sites in just six months, meeting the required timelines, costs and quality.
